WATER - the spin-off from SMOKE, FIRE and ASHES comes soon

When I first started to write Claire and Sebastian's story I had no idea it would lead to a spin-off. But I'm glad it did.

WATER is the story of Anna, the doctor who took care of Claire in the first book and Sebastian's mysterious friend.
The other character is Jack. He used to be Sebastian's best friend, but during a big misunderstanding that lasted almost 10 years of his life, they fought.
During the second book, FIRE, they reconnect and Jack meets the lovely Anna Miller.

What about books?

 Before I decided to try and write, before I started analyzing books rather than reading them, before I saw the characters as words on a page rather than potential human beings just like me, before all that, I was just an avid reader.
I read almost everything I could get my hands on: horror stories, thrillers, philosophy, erotica - romance, poetry, everything.
Perhaps not the most pertinent opinion, but nonetheless an opinion, I think that books are meant to create emotions out of nothing.
I could have a bad day and then, just by reading something nice, whatever it was that caused the angst would be gone.
I love to loose myself into the action, the overall emotion and plot. I love to identify with the characters, that is why, sometimes, i hate whiny females or too powerful ones. I want to picture myself as being them. That is the beauty of words. You can imagine yourself as a different person: a classy, sophisticated lady, a dirty mistress, a naive college girl who just met the perfect billionaire. :)
You can be whoever you want. Just by reading a few words.
That is why some books don't appeal to me. They are well written, every dot and coma are perfect, no typos and no mistakes, but the characters are not who I feel them to be.
A good book allows you to be something other than politically correct, it is a fantasy, it is a fairytale.
It doesn't have to be perfect to be perfect for me. It doesn't have to have the perfect man, the one that does all the right things, but the one that sends shivers down my spine.
It doesn't have to have the amazing powerful woman, or the combination between sweet, innocent and witty. It just have to be the right woman at the right turning point in the plot.

"CLAIRE

Drama seems to be my middle name. I had it following me all my life. My childhood was a happy one, my parents loved me, my high school friends adored me. I was a shy girl, but I had wit and they loved it. Then came the first blow: Christian’s death.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Even though we don't celebrate this holiday, i still have some reasons to be grateful and i know it's a custom to say what you are thankful for:
- i'm very grateful for my health and my family's health
- i'm very grateful for the inspiration i had and for writing a book this year
- i'm grateful for wonderful friends, old ones and new ones
- i'm grateful for people who have helped me during this editing and writing process
and last but not least
- i'm grateful for being able to give something back, advice or just encouragement. It means someone trusted me enough to ask for advice and i made someone happy by with my support.

Smoke is to be published next week - December 7

Due to some technical difficulties I postponed the release of Smoke until 7th December.

SEBASTIAN

I imagined this a thousand times today, Claire waiting for me half naked with a lingering smile on the corner of her luscious mouth and an unspoken invitation hanging in her eyes. This is so much better, she is almost naked, and she is blushing at the sight of me.

“Hi! I dropped by with your contract and the brief. You left it at the office. Am I interrupting something?”

She looked just a bit embarrassed, like I caught her by surprise doing something she shouldn’t. My perverted mind started to drift away, thinking naughty things one could do at home, alone...
So, before my imagination got wild, I concentrated on her being there and in front of me. I wouldn’t want to lose control like a teenage boy, again.

“Hi, I’m a little surprised by the fact that the CEO is willing to run errands.” A mischievous smile appears on her face.

“You’re very observant, but I have to demolish whatever thought is going through that little head of yours. I was just in the neighborhood so I thought, why not bring them to you? Aren’t you going to invite me in?”

“Are you a vampire?” Claire asked.

That made me laugh. Beautiful and funny. I already knew she was smart, she’s the whole package. Too bad I was not a relationship kind of guy.

“Depends, am I allow to bite you if I am?” I teased back.

She nipped her lower lip and then allowed me to enter her apartment without saying a word.

“So I take it you either believe me when I say I’m not a vampire or you hope that I am…”

Seeing as I'm done working on the Smoke book, along with my editor (Eva Natsumi), I thought I could give my lady friends a little gift. I know, it's not much, but it's something to make your evenings nicer.

Smoke is almost ready to be released!

Great news for me and also for the girls waiting, Smoke is almost ready to be released.
The editor I'm working with done a great job and has a few more pages to edit before the book can be released.

We are still working on the cover and that might prove to be a bit difficult, because I want it to be perfect.

I'll release a few teasers before publishing the book so, if you have any questions about Claire or Sebastian, feel free to ask away :)

Dear diary,
This week is Halloween so that means i get to wear a costume and be someone else.
I still remember a few years ago, this holiday passed like a blur, mainly because i was high and didn't give a damn.
This year is different.
What should i wear?

It needs to reflect my new found strength, my personality and my journey...it also needs to match my skin complexion, seeing I'm a redhead it will be tough...

What about me?

Perhaps writing about myself in the first post it's a bit narcissistic, but seeing this is my blog, i decide to ignore that and get to what's important, my books.

I'm a tormented spirit who enjoys reading. I loose myself in the books I'm reading, I like to identify with the characters, I enjoy following a story, seeing its transformation.
For me, books and music are the greatest gift mankind could have received.

So, after a long time of doing nothing, but reading, I decided I could also write.
I started with short essays, written in my native language (if you're wondering why there are mistakes...it's because English and I are just friends, but not related :)), then i started fooling around with short stories in English.
After that, things became simpler. My first novel story it's about to be published, in December 2013 and it's a very specific genre: Erotic romance.

More about the book in a later post :)


I braced myself and jumped :)
Hopefully, people will be there to catch me from falling. So far, I came across many wonderful people willing to help me in this quest of mine.

So, this is me. Writing, reading and living a little on the side.
